Windansea Closes, Proving Ground Opens

Windansea is one of Monmouth County’s most delicious waterfront dining spots – or should we say “was” because the restaurant is changing their name to Proving Ground Waterside Pub & Grill as they make way for 2018.

While construction has been taking place throughout the winter season, they are currently hiring bussers, runners, hostesses and barbacks for the 2018 season.

Where does this new name originate from, you wonder? When Sandy Hook was an active military base, it was known as the Sandy Hook Proving Grounds.

No exact date has been set yet as to when they are opening, but a social media post tells guests that they will be opening “very soon!”
