Red Bank Local Wins Jeopardy

Kristin Robbins Red Bank Jeopardy

Kristin Kay Robbins, an attorney from Red Bank, was tied going into the last round of Double Jeopardy with fellow contestant  Jack Dickey, a journalist from New York. The category was: Films of the 1990s. The question was: Tommy Lee Jones won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for this movie based on a TV series that premiered in 1963.

Robbins took a chance and bet all but a dollar. Dickey went a step further and bet everything. Robbins answered: The Fugitive.  Correct. Dickens got it wrong.

Tommy Lee Jones played US Marshal Samuel Girard in the 1993 film The Fugitive alongside Harrison Ford’s Dr. Richard Kimble. It was based in the TV series which ran from 1963 to 1967, in which David Janssen played Kimble and Barry Morse portrayed Girard. Kimble had been wrongfully convicted of the first-degree murder of his wife, but escapes from death row and becomes a fugitive (the circumstances differ between TV series and film).
