Public Hearing #2 for JCP&L’s MCRP

The second public JCP&L hearing on the proposed power lines will be Wednesday, March 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Collins Arena at Brookdale Community College.

More than 6,000 people (and growing daily) have signed up to oppose the JCP&L Monmouth Reliability Project. The proposed $111 million-dollar project for a third redundant transmission line will cover 10 miles with 140- to 210-foot-high, 230 kilovolt power lines placed along the NJ Transit rail right of way from Aberdeen to Red Bank, through backyards in five towns, within 1,000 feet of four elementary schools, parks and woods, a protected conservation area, wetlands, multiple sports fields, the heart of a 350-year old historic district and the new developments on the west side of Red Bank.

RAGE – Residents Against Giant Electric – is an all-volunteer, 501 (c) 4 non-profit
