Red Bank Regional (RBR) High School will present its Winter Dance Showcase on Friday, January 11, 2019, at 7 pm.  The RBR Visual & Performing Arts Academy (VPA) dance majors will perform a variety of contemporary, ballet, hip hop, jazz and modern dance numbers in the newly dedicated Joseph A. Russo III Theatre. Tickets are $10 for adults and children over 12; $5 for senior citizens/non-RBR students and children.  RBR students and faculty attend free.  RBR is located at 101 Ridge Road in Little Silver, NJ. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door.

This year’s show features choreography from the students, their teacher, Cara Scacco, as well as three guest artists. RBR Alum and NFL Cheerleader, Gabriella Redaelli, choreographed a sharp and fun group jazz number for the Junior and Senior classes.

The dancers state, “The fast-paced tempo was challenging but it gave us insight into one exciting aspect of professional dancing.”

Kiana Rosa-Fischer also choreographed a fluid modern/contemporary work on the dancers. Kiana holds a B.F.A. in Dance from Mason Gross School of the Arts. Guest musical theater choreographer Anthony Giorgio created a work for the freshman and sophomore majors. Anthony has had the good fortune to choreograph musical theater works all around the world as well as our tristate area.

Clara Bernardinello, a senior dance major from Bradley Beach, reflects on her experience as a four-year dance major stating, “The RBR Dance Department has given me the opportunity to make my best friends. It has sculpted me into a better person and prepared me for college. I will miss working together with my peers.”
