JCP&L Transmission Project Update Meeting

06012017

RAGE (Residents Against Giant Electric) has issued the following information about an update meeting to be held at the Holmdel Community Center on June 1, regarding JCP&L’s proposed high-voltage transmission power lines project in our local communities. This meeting will update residents on what transpired at the formal hearing heldin Newark in April.

What:              Holmdel Township Transmission Project Update Meeting

When:              June 1 at 7:00 p.m.

Where:            Holmdel Senior/Community Center

6 Crawfords Corner Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733

It has been a year since JCP&L first publicly announced their highly invasive 230 kV transmission project (“MCRP”) that could severely impact our communities. A lot has happened over the past year, but, in particular, in the last few months. The formal plenary hearing for MCRP was held before Judge Cookson from April 4 to April 12 in Newark. The hearing is currently on a break and will resume on June 14.

RAGE held an update meeting at Raritan High School on May 25.  For those that could not attend that meeting, Holmdel Township is now holding a meeting to provide an update to its residents on what has happened at the formal hearing thus far. In addition to an update presentation, elected officials and members from RAGE will be present at the meeting to allow an opportunity to answer any questions you may have on what happened at the hearing and on things to come.

Please join us at this meeting and share this with friends and neighbors.

Thank you.
