A Night to Knockout Pet Cancer

Langosta Lounge in Asbury Park will be hosting “A Night to Knockout Pet Cancer” fundraiser to benefit The Brodie Fund. The Brodie Fund raises money for grants to provide financial assistance for families who have pets fighting cancer. The evening will include appetizers, dinner, coffee and dessert. There will also be live musicby special guest Quincy Mumford. Tickets are $80 per person and must be purchased in advance at thebrodiefund.org.

Monmouth Civic Chorus Celebrates Hollywood

Fans of filmdom are invited to the Monmouth Civic Chorus Spring Soirée, “Hooray for Hollywood! A Night at the Movies with MCC.” The evening includes a gourmet dinner and guests can enjoy cocktails at the cash bar while bidding on silent and chance auction items.  The highlight of the evening will be the entertainment, which will feature Chorus members in a cabaret setting singing songs from the vast music library of Hollywood movies.  Guests are sure to hear some of their favorite movie melodies as the night goes on. Run the Hook

Run The Hook is a 5K/10K race at Sandy Hook National Park, NJ in support of local charity Clean Ocean Action. A portion of proceeds from the race go directly to the charity so they can continue to work to improve the quality of our local bodies of water. The race is fittingly situated on a less than 1 mile wide peninsula surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and Sandy Hook Bay giving runners an opportunity to run in a truly unique and natural setting. Rebecca’s Reel Quilt Show

Rebecca’s Reel Quilters (RRQ) will present its biennial quilt show “Rebecca’s Garden.”  RRQ is a non-profit quilt guild that supports many charities, such as Quilts of Valor (quilts presented to veterans), Project Pillowcase (pillowcases made for children with cancer) to name a few.  The show helps fund these and other activities.  It will feature over 150 displayed quilts, a small quilt raffle, vendors for shopping, an applique raffle quilt and more.  Admission:  $8.00; children under 8 are free. Play for Max

A charity alumni basketball game and silent auction fundraiser are being held to support Max Strong, a nonprofit benefiting Maxwell Holden and family to assist with the cost and treatment related to his diagnosis of neuroblastoma.  Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for the Red Bank Regional and Ranney School game against The Shore Alumni at RBR. At 2 p.m. attendees will gather at Red Rock Tap + Grill for a postgame celebration including food, drink, raffle basket treasures and a silent auction. Mary’s Place Walk-A-Thon

Mary’s Place by the Sea is pleased to announce its 7th annual Mary’s Place by the Sea Walk-A-Thon to help women with cancer heal the mind, body and soul. Since 2009, they have supported over 8,000 women, at no cost. Sponsorship and vendor opportunities are still available. Mary’s Place by the Sea is a respite home for women who are receiving treatment for cancer. They provide services that complement their medical treatment, including oncology massage, nutrition education, individual counseling, Reiki, guided meditation and yoga.
