My Visit To Bradley Beach
By: Julia Mortimer

In typical Sunday morning fashion, I was craving a hearty breakfast to start the week on a positive note. I have a new affinity for visiting beach towns along the beautiful Jersey Shore, so this time, I decided to spend the day in Bradley Beach.
As a kid, my family and I were frequent Bradley Beachgoers, so I have fond memories going to snack bars and spending the entirety of my summers in the quaint beach town. We would head over to Vic’s Italian Restaurant with sand-covered feet for a thin crust pizza and garlic knots.
In an effort to bask in the nostalgia, a few friends and I headed over to The Buttered Biscuit on this humid Sunday morning. I have never heard a bad review of the breakfast/brunch spot and have been meaning to try it for quite some time. When we arrived, there was about a 40-minute wait for a table. While we waited, we walked over to The Perfect Perk Café for coffee. I got an iced latte which was just what I needed after a late Saturday night. The baked goods looked delicious as well, and the staff was especially inviting.
We strolled down Main Street, gazing in at all of the delightful small businesses that lined the beach town’s main road.
Not even 20 minutes into our supposed 40-minute wait, our name was called to be seated – truly is the greatest feeling. We were seated outside where we decided on our meals and chatted about the weekend.
I ordered scrambled eggs with goat cheese and a side of bacon along with the famous biscuit. We, of course, had to order a chocolate chip pancake for the table.
This was, hands down, the best breakfast I have ever had! The biscuit came with a cinnamon butter, and the eggs were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I am also glad we decided on the pancake because it received rave reviews all around.
Leaving full and satisfied, we walked down Main Street, passing Bradley Brew Project, Del Ponte’s Bakery (which is next on my list… it looked and smelled amazing!), along with many other restaurants that I definitely plan to visit in the near future.
After finishing our ocean breeze breakfast, we decided to head to the beach. Though it was a bit overcast, it ended up being really nice!
While we sat and listened to the ocean, I looked up local events happening in town. It turns out Bradley Beach hosts so many fun things this summer! There is line dancing and a ton of concerts, perfect to enjoy this warm weather along the beautiful Jersey Shore.
