CBA Holding Sensory-Friendly Performance

Christian Brothers Academy’s student-run theatre company, Pegasus Production Company, is all about inclusion. As such, they are making sure audiences of all sorts will be able to enjoy their upcoming production.

The students will be performing a sensory-safe showing of their upcoming spring musical, “The Music Man,” on March 10 at 7 p.m. in the Henderson Theater, on the Christian Brothers Academy campus on Newman Springs Road, Lincroft.

This particular performance is meant to cater to audience members with special needs by softening the music from louder instruments, refraining from the use of loud or quick special effects, and leaving the house lights on for the duration of the performance. A portion of the proceeds from this performance will go to the local charity Our Special Place, a charity that assists those with autism.

The students of Pegasus are extremely excited for this sensory show, especially after their charity performance last spring during their run of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” This performance was a tremendous success, and was extremely rewarding for the company members and audience members alike; because of this, the students decided to take the idea a step further to create a sensory-friendly performance to show their support of Our Special Place and other similar charities.

Our Special Place is very important to the Pegasus community, and the students hope to be able to continually support this charity for years to come.
