Woman’s Club of Middletown to Hold Annual June Installation/Scholarship Luncheon

Daytime and evening members of the Woman’s Club of Middletown will hold their annual Installation/Scholarship Luncheon on Saturday, June 10 at Bahrs Landing, Highlands, celebrating a successful 2016-2017 club year. Also attending will be the club-sponsored delegates and alternates from Middletown High Schools North and South, who will be attending the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs of GFWC’s Girls Career Institute held at Douglass College in June. Attending, as well, is the 2017 recipient of the club’s annual Marion Andrews Educational Scholarship, named for the 1972-1975 past club president. Members recently completed their annual candy/cookie project for the Visiting Nurses Association of Central Jersey’s Shut-Ins project. Assisted by the Holmdel High School’s National Honor Society students, members filled over 70 decorated coffee cans and over 35 bags with various types of cookies and candies, given to the VNA for distribution.

This year, the club celebrated its 60th anniversary as a federated club and member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs of GFWC. A volunteer community service organization for women in Middletown Township and the surrounding areas, it has for 60 years offered opportunities for community service, leadership development, a voice in the community, and making new friends.  Daytime members meet the first Thursday of the month at 12:00 p.m. and evening members meet the second Thursday at 7:30 p.m., September through June.  Both groups meet in Harlan Hall at The Westminster Presbyterian Church 94 Tindall Road, Middletown. Guests are always welcome. For more information, call (732) 671-3451 or visit
