Winter Fun at Monmouth County Parks

Enjoy winter activities at Monmouth County Parks! Below are some updates to be aware of before planning your day out.

As of Wednesday, Feb. 16:

  • The Holmdel Park Sled Hill is open. Hours are 8 am to 7 pm or until conditions change.
  • The Thompson Park Ski Hut is currently closed.
  • Conditions are unsafe for ice skating and ice fishing at all park locations.

Please click here to check out Monmouth County Park’s website for updates, as the weather is constantly changing which may affect conditions.

When there is snow on the ground and conditions are safe, Holmdel Park, on Longstreet Road, is the place to go for sledding. Call Holmdel Park at 732-946-9562 for current sledding conditions.

Ice Skating

When the conditions are right and the ice is at least five inches thick, start looking for the “Skating Today” signs at Holmdel, Shark River and Turkey Swamp Parks. It normally takes at a week to 10 days of subfreezing temperatures to produce safe skating conditions.
