Whale and Shark Spotted Along the Jersey Shore

The season of whale watching and shark sightings is upon us! Just today, a whale was spotted off the coast of Belmar.

Jersey Shore Whale Watching Tour captured footage of a whale along the Belmar coast over the past few days. It is unclear the whale’s species. Common whales found migrating through the Jersey Shore include Humpback, Northern Right and Common Minke, according to Save Coastal Wildlife.

Whale sightings aren’t the only excitement occurring in the Jersey Shore waters recently. Great white shark Andromache was pinged 20 miles off of the coast of Island Beach State Park.

The 10-foot-8-inch shark was last located this morning, May 13, off the coast of Long Island.
