Courtesy: Marlboro Police Department

At approximately 2 pm on Monday, Sept. 21, a Newark man’s vehicle collided with a State Department of Transportation mowing tractor on Route 18 in Marlboro.

Marlboro Police Captain Stephen J. Levy stated that Robert Taylor, 58, was cutting grass in the median of Route 18 when 28-year-old Eric Hopkins’ Chevy TrailBlazer collided with the tractor.

Hopkins suffered a broken leg and head injuries, according to Levy. Taylor suffered minor injuries. Both were transported by ambulance to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

The cause of the accident is still unknown and under investigation, although police said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors.
