Two Arrested After Fleeing Police over Motor Vehicle Burglaries in Union Beach

Subsequent to the report of a rash of motor vehicle burglaries and a credit card theft(s) investigation in Union Beach, the Union Beach Police Department Detective Bureau conducted an investigation into the latter. The investigation revealed a 36-year-old male Michael Rusignuolo and 35-year-old female Jennifer Iannicelli to be suspected of the multiple motor vehicle burglaries in Union Beach.

On June 12, Union Beach Police Department Detective Bureau – Det. Joseph Friscia consequently observed one burglary suspect identified as Michael Rusignuolo driving his vehicle. The Detective attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop of Mr. Rusignuolo. Nonetheless, after initially stopping, Mr. Rusignuolo managed to put his vehicle in reverse and fled down Johnson Ave. at a high rate of speed, where he ultimately jumped out of his vehicle with Detective Friscia in pursuit. UBPD Officer Ryan Fogarty soon thereafter joined in the foot pursuit and search of the suspected burglar through a wooded area – along with Union Beach Police Department Chief of Police Michael J. Woodrow, who was in the area as well as with Capt. Gabriel Farese, Sgt. Frank Taddeo, Ptl. Michael Davis, Ptl. Matthew Deickmann, Ptl. Sean Smith with K9 Major. Moments later, the officers were able to corner and apprehend Mr. Rusignuolo. The UBPD Detective Bureau was able to additionally retrieve numerous stolen items belonging to residents in Union Beach. The other suspect Jennifer Iannicelli was arrested at her residence without incident.

Mr. Rusignuolo was charged with four counts of burglary, theft of movable property, receiving stolen property, credit card theft, eluding, obstruction, and numerous motor vehicle summons. Rusignuolo will be transported to the Monmouth county correctional facility pending a superior court date.

Jennifer Iannicelli was charged with theft of movable property and credit card theft. Iannicelli was released on summons pending a superior court date.
