One of the few area schools to offer a sailing program, Trinity Hall has attracted many girls to the sport which promotes physical and mental well-being.
“The sport of sailing is wonderful for teens to unplug and focus on mental health,” said Assistant Coach Maribeth Pelly. “I’d like to promote the sport for women, as it is not an arena where young women can see strong representation. The Trinity Hall program is growing each year, and we hope that, in addition to fostering a love of sailing, our student-athletes are exposed to leadership opportunities as they mature their skills.”
Head Coach Mary Marino is excited to have many of her athletes return after losing only two seniors to graduation.
“Last year, the girls placed in the last regatta, which was incredibly exciting,” she said. “We hope to continue to place during the season this year as we grow in size and ability. I look forward to having new sailors and the return of a really wonderful team.”
The fall 2022 roster includes freshmen Evelyn Magee, Alessandra Addeo, Sophia Galiano and Samantha Goldberg; juniors Julianna Walsh, Greta Senft, Alli Beisel and Alexandra Dacosta; and seniors Izzy Incognito, Mae Balesterri, Camila Monzon and Eve Balesterri.
This fall’s schedule includes several weekend regattas and Fall Fleet Championships in October.
