On June 30, the Tinton Falls Mayor and Council cut the ribbon to celebrate the opening of Wardell Park located at 230 Wardell Rd.
The 4.5-acre recreation area is equipped with two tennis courts, a large playground, two basketball courts, and six pickleball courts.
The park was funded through a $1.1 million grant from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Green Acres program and $250,000 in Monmouth County Open Space grant money.
“The borough is really excited to have opened this park for the community and hope everyone can get out there to get some exercise and enjoy this beautiful new facility,” Tinton Falls representatives wrote in an announcement regarding the park on July 2.
