Three Monmouth County Men Involved in Federal Illegal Gun Ring

Three Monmouth County men were involved in running guns from Florida to the Jersey Shore, according to U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito. Federal agents have arrested two, but the other man is still on the run.

Two brothers, Waldin “Manin” Espinosa-Ozoria, 31, of Freehold, and Manuel “Chino” Espinosa-Ozoria, 30, of Bartow, Florida, are wanted for conspiring to illegally sell firearms, including handguns and a semi-automatic rifle. They are currently on the run.

Three more men were arrested on similar charges on Sept. 30, Carpenito said. They are Enrique “El Enano 13” Quijada, 23, of Freehold; Jacquelyn Dejesus, 41, of Bartow, Florida; and Javier “Broly” Rodriguez-Valpais, 31, of Morganville.

Manuel Espinosa-Ozoria was said to be the organizer of said crimes, employing Dejesus as a “straw buyer” of firearms. The illegal activity spanned from May 2020 to September 2020.

An FBI operative caught Rodriguez-Valpais, the middle-man in the purchase, when the agent bought weapons from the brothers.

The Department of Justice created Project Guardian, which is an initiative to reduce gun violence and enforce firearms law. This case was a part of that initiative.
