Thousands Without Power Across the County with Trees Blocking Major Roads

Mayor Tony Perry has alerted Middletown Township via his social media pages that there are currently more than 17,000 residences without power, according to JCPL. Crews will be deployed to assess and restore power once the weather and enviornment is deemed safe.

Residents have been reporting outages and downed trees from Belford to Lincroft in Middletown Township.  Dwight Road at the corner of Laird Rd. in the Oak Hill Section of Middletown is currently closed due to a downed power lines and trees.

An entire power line had fallen onto Sycamore Ave. in Tinton Falls in front of Woody’s Restaurant.

Route 520 is currently closed due to a downed tree across the roadway near Hance Avenue. Middletown law enforcement as well as EMTs are on site to block cars and divert traffic.

Shrewsbury Ave.

Another tree has fallen across Campbell Strest off of West Front Strest in Lincroft, blocking traffic from drivers and causing detours. Motorists are reporting complete backups along Newman Springs Road (Route 520) from Shrewsbury into Red Bank.
