The Thompson Middle School field hockey team completed the season with an 11-1 record as Shore Conference of Middle Schools co-champions, sharing the title with Ocean Township.  The Lions opened the season with wins over Hazlet (2-0) and Ocean (2-1). The squad went undefeated through the first nine games of the campaign before bowing to Ocean for the only loss.

Sweeper Kendall Elmiger led the team in scoring, with six goals. Pacing the squad in assists, with five each, were midfielder Peyton Kenney and forward Maeve Richter. Goalie Christina Dowd posted eight shutouts in her first year playing field hockey.

Coach Travis Boff stated, “The Thompson field hockey team was a lot of fun to coach this year. The girls played hard every day and their season-end result shows this. We spoke a lot about being together and playing for each other and the team showed this, day in and day out.” Coach Boff owns a record of 21-3 through two years at the helm.
