Suspect in Red Bank Jogger Assault Case Allegedly Attacks Another, is Arrested

A man has been arrested three weeks after a Red Bank woman claimed he threw her to the ground while she was jogging, police said. His arrest comes on the heels of a Little Silver woman telling police a similar story this past weekend.

The Red Bank Police Department announced late Thursday night that the subject pictured below in Red Bank was identified and arrested.

Red Bank police identified 18-year-old Luis Flores, of Red Bank, as the man charged in connection to the report on Jan. 12.

A female jogger reported being assaulted between 8 and 9 am that Sunday while she was running along McLaren Street, between Spring Street and Prospect Avenue. She suffered a minor hand injury as a result of the encounter. She described the suspect as a light-skinned male in black gym shorts and a hoodie. Home security footage of the man walking those streets was later obtained and released to the public.

Another local woman reported on Feb. 2 that she was accosted by a male matching the description given in the Red Bank case during her jog through Little Silver. She said the man was in a parked car on Seven Bridges Road, exited the vehicle, ran up behind her and grabbed her, but she was able to get away safely.

The Little Silver Police Department said officers arrested Flores just moments after the incident Sunday. He was charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact, according to police.
