Store Proposed to Fill Empty Lot in Hazlet

Google Maps: S. Laurel and Rte. 36, Hazlet

A 7-Eleven convenience store is being proposed to replace the vacant lot on Route 36 in Hazlet, which was once home to a Sunoco gas station many years ago. This 3,010-square-foot 7-Eleven would have six fuel pumps accompanying the convenience store.

The corner lot, which has been vacant for years,  is currently surrounded by a chain link fence. It is located on the corner of Route 36 and South Laurel Avenue.

The nearest 7-Eleven to this vacant spot is a three-minute drive away in Keansburg.

According to a legal notice announced by Hazlet Township, New Horizon Properties LLC’s proposal will be heard by Hazlet’s Land Use board on Thursday, Oct 1 at 7pm.
