All Saints’ Memorial Church Announces New Monthly Service for Children and Families

All Saints’ Memorial Church, known locally as The Stone Church, announces a new monthly service geared to children and families. This service, called Second Sundays @ Stone Church, will be at 9:00 a.m. on the second Sunday of each month, beginning September 10. “This service will closely follow a regular Sunday service in the Episcopal Church,” says The Rev. Debbie Cook, Rector, “with prayers, readings, and music in a child-friendly format. While children are welcome at all our services, this service will allow for children to experience the service of Holy Eucharist in a different way; encouraging their full participation not only in the congregation, but as leaders, as well. Children (and their parents) will be invited to do the readings, lead prayers, usher, and assist at the altar. Children are not just the future of the church; they are its present, and they have their own gifts to share.”

All those attending the September service are invited to bring their school backpacks or bags for a special Blessing of the Backpacks, as well as a Back to School prayer. On the other Sundays of the month, Sunday school and/or interactive family activities will be held during the 9:00 a.m. hour. To accommodate this new service, the church moved its service of Holy Eucharist with music and the choir to 10:00 a.m.  This service, along with an 8:00 a.m. service of Holy Eucharist, will be held every Sunday.

All Saints’ Memorial Church is an Episcopal Church in the Diocese of New Jersey, located at 202 Navesink Avenue in the Navesink area of Middletown (use Atlantic Highlands for GPS purposes).
