Runners Lace up for Little Silver 5K this Weekend

The 29th annual Little Silver 5K, presented by the Little Silver Parent Teacher Organization, is set for Sunday, Oct. 2.

The Little Silver Parent Teacher Organization is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to enhance their children’s education, experiences and environment.

This race is run completely by volunteer moms and dads who manage all the details. This year’s race is a USATF NJ Women’s Masters 5K Championship Race/USATF Certified Course/USATF Grand Prix Event. Top USATF (age graded) finishers will receive cash prizes. Awards will be presented to the top three males and females in all five-year age groups up to 80+ as well as the first place male and female Little Silver residents. Medals will also be awarded for all children in kiddie dashes.

The activities begin at 8:45 am with the Kids’ One Mile Fun Run. The 5K race takes off at 9:30 am with Kiddie Dashes (pre-K through fourth grade) following conclusion of 5K.

The Post-Race Party is back after two years. The fun will start approximately 11 am at the Little Silver Firehouse on Prospect Avenue with food, live music and many entertaining activities. Check the website for more information.

This year, the race committee has added some exciting new business and family sponsorship opportunities with great perks and benefits. Visit LittleSilver5K.com to learn more, become a sponsor and to
