Maxwell Taffin, 21, of Rumson, was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly ate his ex-girlfriends pet fish inside of her Louisiana State dorm room.

An arrest warrant from the LSU police states the victim gave Taffin and his two friends permission to stay at her dorm for the weekend.

Upon the victim’s arrival back to the dorm, Taffin told her to check her fish tank before rushing out. It was then that the woman noticed her fish was missing. She then received a text message that read, “found your fish.” The photo was of a fish in a toilet filled with feces.

Taffin was booked on charges of improper telephone communications and cruelty to animals.

“Yeah, I’ll be honest with you. I ate the fish,” he reportedly told officers.

The incident happened in 2016, but justice is now being served. Taffin was supposed to go to the Louisiana State University Police Department for a criminal summons but never showed up.
