Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Tower Players Present ‘Mamma Mia!’

Donna and the Dynamos rehearse “Chiquitita”: (L to R) Mackenzie Doherty, Ali Gagliardi, and Sophie Barabas

Music returns to the stage at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School this April as students new and old come to put on a show, the likes of which have not been seen since before the pandemic. The Tower Players will be performing a musical back on their stage and it is none other than Mamma Mia!  Over the past two years, the students performed in a film version of their fall play, performed in a musical outside in the open air, and finally returned to the stage this past fall for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Now, they are prepared to bring singing and dancing back to the stage in what’s sure to be a spectacular performance of rock band ABBA’s greatest hits.

This awe-inspiring jukebox musical takes place in 1970s Kelokairi, Greece where Donna Sheridan (Ali Gagliardi) independently raises her daughter Sophie (Camryn Osofsky) who is engaged to be married.  Sky (Evan Callas) plans to marry Sophie on the island while he works at Donna’s hotel, Bella Donna.  Unbeknownst to Donna, Sophie invites her mother’s old flames to the wedding who would potentially be her father: Sam Carmichael (Jackson Champeau), Bill Anderson (Chris Stypa), and Harry Bright (Christian Stone).  With the help of her best friends and ex-Dynamos, Rosie Mulligan (Mackenzie Doherty) and Tanya Chesham-Leigh (Sophie Barabas), Donna must face her past and reveal a long-hidden secret, as Sophie discovers who she truly is.

Students arrive early to Saturday morning rehearsal with smiles on their faces: (L to R) Connor Olson, Hanna Rizzi, Jackson Champeau, Ava Bruno, Christian Stone, Kat Belfer, Theodore Peluso, Emme Patel, Allison Dassler, Brittany Stephan, Georgia Watt, Chris Stypa, Gemma Formisano, Lilly Light, Kiran Rizzi, Matthew Child

This Tower Players production is led by none other than the returning faces of KasiAnn Sweeney (Director), Matthew Leddin (Technical Director), Susan Schuld (Assistant Director and Play Production Coordinator), Amanda Gorfain (Musical Director), Catherine ‘Kitty” Cleary (Costumes & Props Director), and Donna Battaglia (Choreographer). All of these advisors bring their own passion and creativity to this truly crowd-pleasing production!

Mamma Mia is presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. The show will run for two weekends, on April 1-3 and 8-9.  Tickets will be sold exclusively online and all seating will be assigned. Tickets are available for purchase at
