After a fantastic year of productions, the RFH Tower Players are back and walking through walls for this year’s fall play!
Coming off of the boom of Mamma Mia, every cast member is thrilled to once again grace RFH’s stage. This year, the Tower Players have gained many fresh faces in the cast, many of whom have been practicing their accents in preparation for opening night! The Canterville Ghost, by Tim Kelly, is a lighthearted comedy set in present-day England. The story follows the journey of Virginia Otis (Ellie Frankel) and her family as they tackle the challenges of adapting to the English lifestyle, which happens to include living with a ghost! Upon their arrival at the historic Canterville Chase Manor, Mrs. Otis (Gemma Formisano) and Mr. Otis (Jackson Champeau), along with the rest of their children, discover their new house is haunted by the 500-year-old spirit, Sir Simon (Evan Callas), who was cursed to haunt the manor for eternity. Try as he might scare the family, Sir Simon’s shenanigans always result in minor inconveniences as opposed to actual harm. Fed up with Sir Simon keeping them awake at night, the family decides they have had enough and seek to expel Sir Simon from the home. This prompts the family to invite the Amazing Balaklava (Chris Stypa), a paranormal medium, to rid their home of its resident ghosts. But will Sir Simon let himself be so easily exiled? From travelers, to love interests, and a new chef every night, The Canterville Ghost tells the story of a ghost who is no longer scary.
The Tower Players are thrilled to be working with an incredibly talented creative team this season. Returning advisors include KasiAnn Sweeney (Director), Matthew Leddin (Technical Director), and Catherine Cleary (Costume and Props Designer). The Tower Players also welcome Anthony Pruester (Assistant Director) and Sue Wankel (Play Production Coordinator) to the production team. Cast members and advisors alike are overjoyed to get back on stage this fall season, as they prepare for another remarkable production and can’t wait to share their hard work and vision with the community in a few weeks!
