Red Bank Catholic Girls Basketball Completes Winning Season

By: Les Pierce

Ally Carman

The Red Bank Catholic girls’ basketball team completed a COVID-19 shortened season with a 10-2 record. The two losses were nothing to be ashamed of as both were to Saint John Vianney, the No. 1 team statewide as ranked by NJ.com.

Over the 10 victories, the Caseys outscored opponents by a 660-322 margin. Boston College-bound Ally Carman led the squad on offense with 167 points on the season. She scored more than 15 in four games with a 26-point performance against Long Branch, her best outing.

Justine Pissott missed five games but still managed to put up 127 points. The University of Tennessee commit netted 72 of those points from outside the arc. She posted 29 points in a game against Red Bank Regional and scored 15 or more five times in the seven games she played. Both Carman and Pissott are juniors, so Head Coach Joe Montano will have both these power players back next year.

Seniors who have committed to playing collegiate ball are Lucy Alberici (Stevens Institute of Technology), Antonia Panayides (Monmouth University) and Sophia Sabino (Fordham University).

Montano stated, “I was very proud of our team and what we accomplished under very difficult circumstances. Wishing our seniors continued success and looking forward to coaching next years team.”
