RBC Senior Receives Appointment to West Point

Sarah Fazzalori, a Colts Neck resident and Red Bank Catholic senior, has received her appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. Jim DiOrio, West Point class of 1986 graduate, veteran and Congressional District Coordinator for the 4th Congressional District of New Jersey, presented Fazzalori with her appointment as part of the “Celebration of Excellence: Class of 2020 Senior Awards” which was broadcast for the RBC community on May 31.

West Point is the world’s preeminent institution for leadership development and higher education. West Point demands a particular kind of student with critical thinking skills, character, physical fitness, motivation, and desire for challenge. Fazzalori is a member of the RBC National Honor Society, is graduating in the top 10 of her class, and played varsity tennis for four years, helping the team to Shore Conference and Monmouth County Tournament wins during her senior year.

“I attended the West Point Summer Leaders Experience Program at the end of my junior year and being immersed in the environment really confirmed my dream to attend,” Fazzalori said.

Being accepted for admission into West Point is an exceptional honor for and comes with a prestigious full four-year scholarship and military training. Fazzalori intends to major in international affairs with hopes of branching into intelligence in the Army.
