RBC Latest School to Go Virtual Amid COVID-19 Concerns

Red Bank Catholic High School has been forced to move to virtual learning through Thursday, Nov. 19 after three students tested positive for COVID-19, school officials confirmed. All athletics have also been canceled through that date.

Virtual learning will begin Monday, Nov. 9.

Red Bank Catholic’s football game on Friday night was canceled as is competition through Nov. 19. The RBC football team was scheduled to play teams from Wall, Donovan Catholic and Mater Dei Prep for an unofficial Shore Conference championship.

The girls’ soccer team is currently the second seed in the Central East non-public bracket. The first-round game was scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 18 but may be postponed. The boys’ soccer team has pulled out of the Central East non-public tournament.

The field hockey team is ranked third in the Central East non-public bracket and was scheduled to play on Tuesday, Nov. 17. There in no word yet regarding postponed games.

COVID-19 cases are still on the rise in the area. As of Nov. 7, there were 194 new positive cases in Monmouth County, according to the Department of Public Information and Tourism.

Red Bank Regional High School also recently announced that classes and activities would not be held on campus through Friday, Nov. 13 after four positive cases were reported in the school community.
