Raritan High School Moves to 100% Virtual due to COVID Cases

Raritan High School has been compelled to close for 14 days after a third individual associated with the school has test positive for COVID-19.

In a notice posted to the Hazlet Public School District’s website, the high school started 100 percent virtual learning today and will continue in this manner until Monday, Nov. 9.

There were two cases confirmed last week and a third early this week.

Any individual directly affected by one of the cases has been informed. Recommended New Jersey Department of Health procedures are in place. The superintendent affirmed that all outdoor athletics and extracurricular activities will continue as scheduled, given that the unrelated positive cases at RHS did not originate at these events and the Monmouth County Board of Health has indicated that this is permissible.

The district stated in the post, “During the school’s closure, we will increase our cleaning and disinfecting in the building to ensure a safe environment upon our return, particularly next week when schools are closed.”
