Public Asked to Refrain from Activity Near Shadow Lake As Search for Missing Woman Continues

The Middletown Police Department is asking the community to refrain from any activity in and around Shadow Lake until 4 pm today as they search for a missing Middletown woman. Shadow Lake is located between West Front Street in Lincroft and the area of Shadow Lake Village in Red Bank.

Authorities are continuing their search for 62-year-old Mary Silengo, who was last seen around 11 pm on Sept. 22 at her Shadow Lake Village home.

The search for Silengo began in the early morning of Sept. 23 when she was reported missing from her home. Yesterday, search crews were seen canvassing West Front Street in Lincroft by Stevenson Park, as well as the Navesink River in the area of Shadow Lake for the missing woman.

Many residents of Red Bank, Middletown and surrounding areas received a Ring alert on Sept. 23 regarding an elderly woman who is currently missing.

The alert stated that Silengo did not return home, prompting a search by her family. She is a white woman with blonde/gray hair who was last seen wearing a bright pink pajama shirt and gray sweat pants. She may have been wearing a denim jacket and dark colored shoes. She is 5’2″ and weighs 120 pounds. Family members said she is friendly, suffers from a mental illness and is in need of her medication.

Witnesses reported seeing a helicopter land near Middletown High School South, where they say police boarded to conduct the search from above. Others saw a helicopter hovering over Stevenson Park.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the woman pictured above is asked to contact the Middletown or Red Bank Police Department.
