Power Line Down, Diverting Traffic Off Route 35

Today’s storm brought strong winds and heavy rains, resulting in several downed power lines across the state, including one in Holmdel which has caused traffic to build up along Route 35.

A power line is hanging across Route 35 as police are diverting vehicles from the northbound side. Drivers are being directed into the Holmdel Towne Center where traffic has backed up, causing delays in the area.

Verizon is on site, accessing the power lines.

A fire alarm was also set off in one of the Holmdel Towne Center stores, further causing delays.

First responders report to a fire alarm in Holmdel Towne Center.

No injuries have been reported. Drivers are advised to expect delays in the area.
