Police Announce More Attempted Vehicle Thefts in Holmdel Area Last Night

Last evening at approximately 6:30, there were attempted vehicle burglaries in the area of Hayfield Court and Rambling Brook Drive, Holmdel police said. All attempts were unsuccessful due to the vehicles being locked. The suspect vehicle was described as black BMW X4.

Earlier this morning, Holmdel police located that same vehicle on Route 34 traveling more than 100 mph before leaving town. It was then found again by officers near Route 520 where it was operating at 115 mph. Both times, officers attempted to stop the car, but it continued to flee.
As always, the police are urging residents to lock their car doors, take the keys inside and lock all doors going into the home. There have been several incidents around New Jersey where these suspects are being frustrated by vehicles being locked and are attempting to see if they can get access to the keys by entering the home.

Residents have been diligent in reporting suspicious vehicles in their neighborhoods, and police urge all residents to continue doing so.
