John Ozbilgen, previously named a person of interest in the Stephanie Parze missing person case, has been found dead by suicide in his Freehold Township home overnight. Sources close to NBC 4 report the suicide comes days after the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office had named him a person of interest.

“Medical Examiner has determined the cause and manner of death for John Ozbilgen was a suicide by hanging,” the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office announced.

Parze previously alleged Ozbilgen assaulted her, and prosecutors revealed earlier this week he sent her at least 10 angry unanswered messages the night before she went missing.

Ozbilgen was arrested on charges of possession of child pornography back in early November, shortly after Parze’s disppearance, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. On Nov. 8, the home of John Ozbilgen, 29, was searched in relation to the disappearance of 25-year-old Parze, who has been missing since Oct. 30.

Search parties organized by friends and family have been conducted and continue to be planned throughout the weekend in the Freehold and Monmouth County area.

Anyone with information related to the disappearance of Stephanie Parze is asked to call Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Det. Shawn Murphy at 732-431-7160 or Freehold Township Police Det. Daniel Valentine at 732-462-7908.
