Parish of St. Mary to ‘Light Up a Memory’ this Christmas Season

“Light Up a Memory,” an annual tradition at the Parish of St. Mary in Colts Neck, is now in its 14th year!

It is such a heartwarming sight to see the tree lights during the Christmas season, knowing that each sparkle represents a loved one – either in memory of someone deceased or in honor of a living person. They are also commemorated in the Light Up a Memory Book, which will be displayed in the narthex of the church throughout the season.

“This wouldn’t be possible without the undying efforts of the committee, the backing of the parish and the wonderful support of the Colts Neck community,” church officials said.

For a contribution of $10 per light, everyone is invited to honor their loved ones in this beautiful way.

A special lighting ceremony will take place on Saturday, Dec. 11 after the 4 pm Mass. Christmas hymns will be provided by the choir.

The deadline to reserve a light is Wednesday, Dec. 1, so call the parish office at 732-780-2666 or one of the chairpersons: Molly Aiello at 732-598-6808 or Freda O’Doherty at 732-577-9541.
