Old Bridge Man Found Deceased after Search of Holmdel Park

An Old Bridge man who was reported missing early this week has been located and pronounced dead.

Edward Hussey, 49, was last seen Sunday morning leaving his house on Lakeridge Drive. After he did not return home, his family reported him as missing and community members rallied to locate him. People were urged to keep an eye out for Hussey, who was originally thought to have been around the Lakewood or Allenhurst area.

During the search, police turned their focus to Holmdel Park, though information as to why this area was of interest has not been released. The park was closed Wednesday and Thursday as the Holmdel Police Department searched the area for the missing man.

On Friday morning, Holmdel police announced that the missing person had been located and thanked the public for its help. Holmdel Park has since reopened.

The Old Bridge Police Department posted on Facebook that it “would like to extend [its] deepest condolences to the family of our recent missing person and thank the community for their help in this matter.”

No further details have been released.
