Oak Hill Academy Students Participate in World Read Aloud Day

World Read Aloud Day was founded in 2010 as an opportunity for people all around the globe to celebrate the joy of reading aloud and advocate for literacy as a fundamental human right that belongs to everyone.

This year, students from Oak Hill Academy celebrated this event together. Students in first through fourth grade were paired up and rotated through four different reading activities. Each teacher read from a book and then the students completed different activities with their partners.

Younger students read a variety of “Elephant and Piggie” books by Mo Willems. Others read “One Plastic Bag: Isatou Ceesay and the Recycling Women of The Gambia” by Miranda Paul or “Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls” by Francesca Cavallo and Elena Favilli.
