Newcomers and Neighbors Club Plans Spring Events

Newcomers and Neighbors Club president Sue Quincannon served as an auctioneer at the annual “Treasure Auction” on April 13.

On April 13, the Newcomers and Neighbors Club of Colts Neck, Holmdel, and surrounding areas held a general meeting at Colts Neck Firehouse #2. Members and guests enjoyed a social hour with coffee and bagels, a general business meeting, a catered lunch, and the hilariously entertaining “Treasure Auction.” Funds from the auction helped to pay for the lunch, while remaining funds and unsold items were donated to a local charity.

On May 11, the club will hold a spring luncheon at Buona Sera in Red Bank. Festivities will begin at 12:00 p.m. with a cocktail hour, followed by a five-course meal. Entertainment will be provided by numerologist Michael Fierro. For reservations, call (732) 343-3586. Cost is $50 before May 4 and $55 from May 4 to 8.

The spring luncheon is the club’s last major event of the year. General meetings resume in September. However, many of the activity groups continue to meet through June, taking only a two-month break in the summer. The club is open to all residents of Monmouth County and surrounding areas and new members may join at any time. For information on the Newcomers and Neighbors Club, call (732) 577-0875 or (732) 530-9543.
