Navesink River Road Closed for 30 Days During Repairs to McClees Bridge

Navesink River Road will be closed starting today, Sept. 13, for the next 30 days as repairs are completed on the McClees Bridge, according to Middletown police.

No through traffic is allowed. Detours will be posted.

The bridge is being replaced due to age and normal deterioration from vehicular traffic during its years in service. This project originally started construction in April 2021 but due to issues underground, the work was postponed until after the summer.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this road closure causes as the bridge is being replaced,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the County’s Department of Public Works and Engineering. “We appreciate the patience of those who travel on Navesink River Road during this construction project and will work to get it done as quickly as possible.”
