BREAKING: Murphy Signs Executive Order, Taking Major Strides Toward Recovery

Today during the governor’s daily press briefing, Gov. Phil Murphy stated he will sign an executive order, effective 6 AM Monday, May 18 to allow the restart of non-essential construction,  as well as allow for non-essential retail stores to reopen for curbside pick-up only. No customers will be allowed in any non-essential stores.

The order will also permit drive-through and drive-in events under social distancing guidelines.  This will include gatherings of vehicles, such as drive-in movies or church services. Murphy added that if vehicles are closer than six feet apart, then all windows, sunroofs, or convertible tops must remain closed.

Gov. Murphy writes, “Data shows that we are ready to restart the economy.”
