Multiple New Jersey Lord & Taylor Stores to Close

Lord & Taylor department store headquarters have announced the closing of 24 stores nationwide, including three located across New Jersey.

According to CNBC,  the department store chain filed for Chapter 11 earlier this month, prompting the shutdown of the luxury department stores. The stores set to close will see up to 40 percent liquidation sales across the nation.

Freehold Raceway Mall’s Lord & Taylor has survived this round of cuts, however, three other New Jersey locations were not as lucky. Shoppers can take advantage of the liquidation sales at the Livingston, Rockaway and Willowbrook Mall locations.

Lord & Taylor at the Freehold Raceway Mall remains as one of three major department stores along with J.C. Penney and Macy’s, after Nordstrom permanently shut down in May of this year, to many shoppers dismay.

Several other tri-state Lord & Taylor stores set to close include seven in New York and three in Connecticut.
