The Monmouth Museum is moving forward in an innovative way as museums and most businesses remain closed due to COVID-19. The museum is hosting its first virtual exhibit, welcoming home artists celebrating their local roots and diverse art.

The R’emerged Exhibition will take place online in a virtual gallery available online from April 3 to June 3. It will feature current works of alumni New Jersey Emerging Artists spanning the last 13 years. The opening reception is will be a remote Zoom party on Friday, April 3 at 5 pm. Visit the Monmouth Museum’s Facebook and Instagram pages @themonmouthmuseum to join the party!

“We are excited to bring this alumni retrospective to the community and to showcase the talented New Jersey artists that found their start with us,” Executive Director and Curator Donna Kessinger said. “The exhibition will feature some truly remarkable artwork.”

The New Jersey Emerging Artists Series was established by the Monmouth Museum in 2007 to provide local artists with a launchpad and nurturing environment for their career development, including their first museum-caliber solo show. More than 70 artists have been featured since the program’s inception in 2007, and it has become a popular staple for art lovers and the entire community.
