The Legal Aid Society of Monmouth County held an event on Sept. 16 to celebrate its 72nd year of providing pro bono legal assistance to county residents in need. Lawyers, professionals, family and friends gathered at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como to raise funds for the nonprofit. Attendees enjoyed music, dinner and drinks while bidding on various raffle items. All proceeds from the generously donated gift baskets went toward the Legal Aid Society.
Prizes of the silent auction included a wine tasting from Total Wine & More, a Kate Spade handbag, a Sprig Market Café gift card, two sessions at Salt Cave, four tickets to a Jersey Shore BlueClaws game, Apple Airpods, two tickets to a Count Basie Center for the Arts show, a picnic experience, and much more.
“I am very proud of the board members of the Monmouth Legal Aid Society for bringing their friends, family and community together to raise money for the indigent residents of Monmouth County,” said Victoria Paone Rosa. Esq., an associate with the Law Offices of Paone, Zaleski & Murphy in Red Bank and Woodbridge. “As Marian Wright Edelman said, ‘Service is the rent each of pays for living – the very purpose of life and not something that you do in your spare time or after you have reached your personal goals.’”
Paone Rosa has served as a trustee of the Monmouth County Legal Aid Society and is now the vice president for the 2022-23 term.
