Middletown Veterans Day Parade Postponed Due to ‘Recent Increase in COVID-19 Cases’

Middletown’s annual Veterans Day parade has been postponed, according to the Middletown Township Police Department.

The parade was scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 8.

The new date has not yet been announced.

“Due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, the township, along with medical professionals, have decided that the Veterans Day Parade be postponed to ensure the safety of our residents,” township officials said. “The township and VFW Post 2179 will re-evaluate hosting a parade when it is safe to do so.”

The parade usually takes about two hours, starting at 1 pm at Bayview Elementary School. The approximate 2.3-mile parade route typically travels down Leonardville Road, through Campbell’s Junction, turns right onto Cherry Tree Farm Road, turns right onto Wilson Avenue, and finally turns right onto Garrett Place, ultimately ending at the VFW Post 2179 in Port Monmouth.
