Middletown High School South’s Emma Buthorn has been selected to the APP.com All-Shore Lacrosse First Team.
Buthorn led the squad this season in nearly every stat – with 60 goals, 19 assists, 57 ground balls and 55 draw controls. Her career totals are 79 goals, 24 assists, 96 ground balls, 74 draw controls and seven forced turnovers.
The junior midfielder scored in every contest of the 18-game campaign. Her best outing was an eight-goal performance against RBC on April 11. She scored five goals twice – against Red Bank Regional on April 22 and Point Boro on April 23.
Senior defender Peyton Kenney and junior midfielder Lauren Hutson were named to the APP.com All-Shore Second Team.
The Shore Conference Lacrosse Coaches Association also announced their 2022 All-Division girls squads. Those selections are based on voting by area coaches.
Buthorn, Kenney and Hutson, along with sophomore attack Skylar O’Keefe and senior goalie Christine Nelson, were all selected to the Shore Coaches A North All-Division First Team. Senior midfielder Christine Ryan was selected to the All-Division Second Team.
Buthorn was named A North Division Player of the Year and rostered on the Shore Coaches Monmouth County First Team. South Head Coach Devan Crimi was named A North Division and Monmouth County Coach of the Year.
The Eagles went undefeated in A North competition this season and won their first ever state playoff game in the program history.
