Middletown Resident Working to Donate Nutritious Meals to Area Nurses

It was Mr. Rogers who famously said, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers.'” So when independent Arbonne consultant Melissa Gibson learned from a client โ€” who happened to be a nurse at Riverview Medical Center โ€” that the nurses there were living on coffee and donuts, she decided at that moment to be “the helper.”

Gibson, a Middletown resident, has orchestrated an “adoption” of sorts, to help nurses throughout the area while they are arduously working long, strenuous hours amid the coronavirus pandemic. Being an Arbonne consultant gives Gibson the ability to purchase at a low price, botanically based protein bars, shakes, healthy hydration drinks and more. Arbonne is a marketing company with a product line that includes vegan skincare, cosmetics and nutrition.

Gibson has put together meal kits to help the medical staff at these area hospitals to have nutrient-based intake while on the job.

With the help of donors, Gibson hopes to be able to provide these nutrient-rich, vegan meals to as many nurses that she can. She is currently delivering to Riverview Medical Center on Friday, with hopes to be able to provide to others on the frontline next week.

Hospitals and medical centers that she is currently working with include Monmouth Medical Center, NYU Langone, and as well as a hospital in Delaware that she plans to delivery directly to.
