Middletown Public Library Children’s Programming

All programs require registration unless noted otherwise. Register for events at www.mtpl.org or by phone at (732) 671-3700, ext. 340. The Middletown Public Library is located at 55 New Monmouth Road, Middletown.

 

New and Special Programs

Take Your Child to the Library Day! – Saturday, February 4, all day. Take your child to the library and you will feed their imagination. Celebrate with special drop-in crafts, book raffles, and activities for all ages. Registration is not required.

Act It Out (for Grades PreK-1) Giraffes Can’t Dance – Thursday, February 9 at 4:00 p.m. Help tell the story! Each child will have a role to play in acting out the story. Sometimes there is an active game after the story. Come dressed and prepared for lots of movement. Presented by retired teacher and volunteer Douglas Bartow.

Gymboree – Friday, February 17. Walkers to 2 years at 10:00 a.m. and 3- to 5-year-olds at 11:00 a.m. A fun and active gym class for children and their parents/caregivers to enjoy.

ScienceStarts: “Energetic” Science – Monday, February 27 at 4:00 p.m. Investigate and invent with your 4- to 7-year-old and any siblings. Families will participate in hands-on science activities as well as in a storytime featuring books related to the activities. This month will be exploring energy.

 

Drop-in Programs

Homework help, develop a skill, or drop in for fun creative crafts. The library offers Lapsit Storytime for prewalkers, Kids Playgroup, Simply Storytime, Math Tutoring and Reading Buddies, Lego building, and chess.
