Middletown First Responders Awarded Mayor’s 5K Challenge Proceeds

At a recent Township Committee meeting, Mayor Tony Perry presented Middletown’s first responder chiefs with a check from the proceeds of the Mayor’s 5K Challenge that was held in October at Poricy Park. Each department received $1,675 to use for new equipment.

The Mayor’s 5K Challenge was the culmination of the Mayors Wellness Campaign, a statewide community health initiative that provides evidence-based tools and strategies for mayors and community leaders to help their residents improve their overall health and wellness. Township officials thanked all the runners and walkers who came out to support these deserving first responders and look forward to seeing them at the 2020 Mayor’s 5K Challenge next fall!

Mayor Tony Perry and Recreation Director Janet Dellett presented chiefs from the Middletown Township Police Department, Fire Department, Office of Emergency Management and Emergency Medical Services with a check from the proceeds of the Mayor’s 5K Challenge.
