Middletown Condo Ablaze Saturday Morning, All Occupants Safe

Early Saturday morning, a fire broke out in Cherry Tree Village in North Middletown, the Middletown all-volunteer fire department said.

The fire broke out at 6:37 am Saturday on the 100 block of Clubhouse Drive in Cherry Tree Village, The Patch first reported.

Responding Third Assistant Chief Antony Fulciniti identified a working structure fire with heavy fire coming from the front of the middle unit.

There were residents still in the condo where the fire started and spaces on either side. Everyone safely evacuated following search and rescue teams’ efforts. At 8:58 am, the fire was called under control.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Middletown Township Fire Marshal’s office and has not been announced.

There were no injuries reported.

Approximately 50 firefighters from six companies of the Middletown Township Fire Department responded to the call, from Community, East Keansburg, Belford Independent, Middletown Township Fire Company No. 1, River Plaza and Old Village Fire Companies.
