Marlboro Vehicle Overturned, Engulfed in Flames

On Monday, Oct. 11 at approximately 11:53 pm, the Marlboro Police Department received a 911 call regarding an overturned vehicle that had caught fire on Hartman Road. By the time patrol officers arrived on the scene, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and both occupants were out of the vehicle. 

The vehicle, a black BMW, was being driven by a 23-year-old male from Toms River, and the passenger was identified as a 21-year-old female from Jackson.

Both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, police said. 

Hartman Road was closed at the ramp from Route 18 South for approximately seven hours. 

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by Cpl. David Ruditsky and Ptlm. Brian Peterson of the Marlboro Township Police Traffic and Safety Bureau. 

Responding to the scene included members of the Marlboro Police Department, Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company, Morganville Fire Department, Morganville First Aid Squad, Marlboro First Aid Squad, Medics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and NJ Department of Transportation.
