Middletown police have arrested a local man who was charged on multiple counts after inviting a 14-year-old girl whom he met online to his home for sexual relations.

Frank Bisso, 25, of Middletown, was charged with sexual assault, criminal sexual contact, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, hindering apprehension and conspiracy to hinder his apprehension. Police say Bisso met the girl, a teen from Oklahoma, through an online video game and subsequently brought her to his New Jerseyย  home. He was arrested on Jan. 24 by the Middletown Special Victims Unit who worked with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office to locate the suspect.

At the start of their communication, Bisso was 23 and the girl was just 13. In September 2017, a month after he began talking to her, Bisso and his mother traveled to Oklahoma and met the minor, police said. He returned in November 2017 to the girl’s home and brought her back to New Jersey with him. Bisso’s mother, 60-year-old Augustina, tried to register the girl for school in the Middletown school district in March 2019. Police said the district notified them of the registration after suspicion arose and thus began their investigation.

Augustina Bisso was charged with hindering apprehension and conspiracy to commit hindering or apprehension for her actions in this case, police said. She has been processed and released on a summons. Frank Bisso remains in jail pending a possible detention hearing.
